1. Consultation
When you come to Revive Medical Spa for Xeomin in Fairbanks, your licensed medical provider will first provide a thorough consultation to make sure you are an ideal candidate for injections. During this open and honest conversation, they will also review your goals to provide a recommendation for which treatment will best meet your needs. When this consultation is complete, you will know how much product we will be injecting and exactly what it will cost.
2. Get Your Injections
We will then study your facial expressions and might make light marks with a pen to indicate precisely where we will be making the injections. Since we utilize thin, tiny needles most patients report feeling minimal to no discomfort. We can, however, provide ice as necessary to ensure your comfort. After a 10 to 15 minute injection process, you will be able to leave our Fairbanks office and continue your normal activities. We recommend that you avoid rubbing on the area for 1 day.
3. Next Steps
We will assess the treated area to ensure proper placement of the Xeomin. If you wish, you can use an ice pack prior to and immediately after your injections to reduce any short-term redness or swelling. Pre-Care Instructions
Before your appointment for Xeomin in Fairbanks, you should:
10 Days Before
Avoid aspirin (e.g. Bayer, Excedrin) and other blood-thinning medications (e.g. Vitamin E, Fish Oil) for at least 10 days before injections. If you are taking this medication under direction of your doctor, be sure to speak with him or her for permission before discontinuing it.
2-3 Days Before
Avoid ibuprofen (e.g. Advil, Motrin) for 3 days before injections. Note: if you’re concerned about pain or bruising, you can take Tylenol before your appointment. Avoid alcohol for 2 days prior to injections as this too can thin the blood and cause bruising during treatment
Hydration
Make sure your skin is properly hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water and using moisturizer morning and night.

The First 4 Hours
Keep your head upright for 4 hours after treatment.
The First Day
No touching or massaging the injection site to avoid moving the material to a spot it wasn’t intended to be.
Sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.

Sunlight/Sunscreen

Botox and Xeomin are both botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxin produced by a bacterial species called Clostridium botulinum. The main difference between Xeomin and Botox is that Xeomin contains a “naked” form of botulinum toxin. Unlike Botox, which contains accessory proteins, Xeomin is designed to deliver the toxin without any protein additives. This purified structure may help prevent antibody resistance, a growing problem that has been seen with botulinum toxin injections administered over time. Through clinical studies and our experience, we believe Botox and Xeomin perform equally.
