  • Phentermine: decrease appetite/ produce early satiety – anorectic stimulant
  • Topiramate: thought to work on the brain receptors, which in turn reduce food intake/ decrease cravings. Works well on decrease of carbohydrate cravings
  • Combination medication gives greater efficacy with fewer side effects

Contrave (combination medication of Bupropion and Naltrexone)

Reduces appetite, reduces food intake; works on appetite regulatory center and reward system (dopamine circuit)
