Consultation
When you come to Revive Medical Spa for Botox in Fairbanks, your licensed medical provider will first provide a thorough consultation to make sure you are an ideal candidate for injections, and she will also review your goals to provide a recommendation for which treatment will best meet your needs. When this consultation is complete, you will know how much product we will be injecting and exactly what it will cost.
Get Your Injection
We will study your facial expressions and may make light marks with a pen to indicate precisely where we’ll place the injections. The tiny, thin needles cause minimal to no discomfort. After a 10 to 15 minute injection process, you will be able to leave our Fairbanks office and continue your normal activities. We recommend that you avoid rubbing on the area for 1 day.
Next Steps
We will assess the treated area to ensure proper placement of the Botox. If you wish, you can use an ice pack prior to and immediately after your injections to reduce any redness or swelling. We’ll answer any and every question you have about the treatment, and give you instructions on the best ways to maintain your results. Then, we welcome you to schedule any follow-up appointments you need.

Pre-Care Instructions
Before your appointment for Botox in Fairbanks, you should:
10 Days Before
Avoiding aspirin (e.g. Bayer, Excedrin) and other blood-thinning medications (e.g. Vitamin E, Fish Oil) for at least 10 days before injections will help reduce your risk of bruising. If you are taking this medication under direction of your doctor, be sure to speak with him or her for permission before discontinuing it.
2-3 Days Before
Avoid ibuprofen (e.g. Advil, Motrin) for 3 days before injections. Note: if you’re concerned about pain or bruising, you can take Tylenol before your appointment. Avoid alcohol for 2 days prior to injections as this too can thin the blood and cause bruising during treatment
Hydration
Make sure your skin is properly hydrated by drinking adequate amounts of water and using moisturizer morning and night.

Post-Care Instructions
Following your Botox injections in Fairbanks, make sure you:
The First 4 Hours
Keep your head upright for 4 hours after treatment.
The First 24 Hours
No touching or massaging the injection site to avoid moving the material to a spot it wasn’t intended to be.
Sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.
Avoid strenuous activity or aerobics for 24 hours after your injections.
Sunlight/Sunscreen
Avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen when outside as UV rays can disperse the injectable faster in your skin and shorten its effects. Not to mention the acceleration of aging by the sun!

Generally, for crow’s feet, we suggest 3 injections into the areas of the muscle that frame the side of each eye. For frown lines, you may receive up to 5 injections into the muscles between your brows and in your forehead. For forehead lines specifically, you may also receive up to 5 injections into the muscle.
- Do men get Botox treatments?

Absolutely! Botox for men (sometimes referred to as “Brotox”) is common at our practice. Crow’s feet, forehead lines, frown lines are not exclusively an area of concern for women. Men get these wrinkles too over time and may wish to look younger and appear more refreshed.
